RED CAP® VALTOD
ORIGIN:
It is a mutant of Red Delicious.
TREE:
It has a slightly stronger growth in comparison with other available on our market sports of Red Delicious.
FLOWERING AND POLLINATION:
It blooms relatively early, but long. Good pollinators for Red Cap® Valtod are Professor Sprenger, Evereste, Idared, Golden Delicious.
FRUIT:
The fruit of Red Cap® Valtod is large and elongated. The ripe fruit is deep red and have a very shiny skin. A blurred erubescence covers approximately 100% of the fruit.
FRUCTIFICATION:
It bears fruit early and regularly; the full coloring of the fruit obtains several weeks before other varieties.
TASTE:
The fruit is sweet, with crunchy and firm flesh, which becomes softer during long storage. Because of balanced content of acids and sugars the fruit of Red Cap® Valtod have a slightly better taste than the fruit of Red Chief.
HARVEST MATURITY:
End of September, beginning of October.
STORAGE:
Storage period is similar to other sports of Red Delicious.
